It's true. The whole body is mapped out on the feet in a series of zones and reflexes, hence the name Reflexology.
Foot Reflexology is more than just a good foot massage - Reflexology is an alternative treatment that is used for a variety of conditions and may help to stimulate nervous function, increase energy, boost circulation, induce relaxation, eliminate toxins, prevent migraine, speed recovery after injury or surgery, help with sleep disorders, reduce depression and relive pain.
Furthermore, it can help to ease the treatment of various forms of cancer and soothe aches and pains during pregnancy and help in the preparation of and recovery of birth.
Beyond the feel-good effects of the treatment, the practice and purpose go deeper than the skin and muscles by taking specific reflex points on the foot to induce a healing response in corresponding organs and areas of the body. Kneading the soft fleshy ball of the foot, pulling on the toes, tracing around the heel and pushing deep into the arch are just a few of the many small, intense movements you’ll experience during a Reflexology treatment.
During a Reflexology session at my Massage Studio in Fremantle, you remain fully clothed and lying down on the Massage table whilst I rub, press on and squeeze points on your feet. I may concentrate on specific areas to alleviate ailments (if you have sinus trouble, I’ll focus on your toes) or work on the whole foot with the aim of strengthening every system in the body. My Foot Reflexology treatments are designed for relaxation and stress management.
